Diana "Diane" CraftOctober 8, 1964 ~ August 15, 2018
“I was born on October 8th, 1964. I was raised by my two wonderful parents Alfred and Terry Borg. My mom passed away December 23rd, 2015, but my dad still lives a healthy life in Sharon, Ontario. I have two brothers who are both doing well and lead happy lives. Raymond Borg is my eldest brother, and he has two kids Joshua and Jesse. Ray loves his family and his plants. Then I have my youngest brother, Walter Borg, who adores his family and his wife Tracey and his son Daniel, and has a passion for music. I was also surrounded by a big Maltese family full of uncles, aunts and a bazillion cousins.
I then moved up to the Yukon and I jumped in with both feet volunteering at Bethany Church. I did Girls Club for 12 years, drove vans, led a Kids Church, did a few Vacation Bible Schools, and of course helped out at Camp Yukon, being the Queen of the Mess Hall for many years. Needless to say, many beautiful friendships sprouted up from being with this family.
I am married to Pete Craft who has five children from his previous marriage; Shawn, David, Erica, Tamara and Rachel. I have two kids from my previous marriage. Matthew Janiga is my eldest son who was born on October 8th, 1989. He is married to Andria Janiga, and they have two precious kids, Ryan and Cole. Tara Abrams, my daughter was born December 14, 1990. Tara is married to TJ Abrams, and they have a little daughter named Reese.
I adored being a mother first and foremost. All the sweet memories of raising my two kids still bring me joy. Over our life together, and all the great times we shared, pouring love, joy, happiness and creativity into their lives. I loved living in the Yukon, the great outdoors, exploring it on the rhino, by foot and by water. I just loved being outside all the time.
Thanks to my family and friends for sharing my love of the outdoors with me and all that the Yukon has to offer, utter beauty. “
A Funeral Service will take place for Diane on Saturday August 25, 2018 at 2:00pm at Bethany Church in Whitehorse.
