Myrna Linn Engren

June 4, 1966 ~ May 1, 2021

A limb has fallen from the family tree
that says Grieve not for me
Remember the Best Times,
the Laughter, the Song,
The Good Life I lived
while I was strong.

Family and friends of Myrna Linn Engren are profoundly sad to say “so long” to such an incredible lady. Myrna was born in Whitehorse to Helge and Millie Engren. She was the youngest of her 5 siblings, Marianne, Mayvor, Inga, Monica and Lars. Myrna attended postsecondary school in Kelowna where her parents eventually retired.  Her heart always remained in the Yukon and she returned after college to begin her life in Whitehorse. Myrna worked for many years at the
RCMP and continued her career in Records Management at Yukon Energy. In 1993 her greatest love came into her life, her son Bryden. Her world revolved around him and she was his biggest fan.

Myrna loved her sports. In her younger years she played volleyball and was an awesome broomball player and softball teammate. She loved to travel, and looked forward to the summers where she could camp with her friends. She loved to spend time with her fur babies Missy & Luna and most of all loved a good fire and a glass of wine. Whatever Myrna was involved in whether it was sports, work or friends, she gave 110% and tackled everything with a desire to do the absolute best. She was a principle-driven person and a strong advocate for people and animals.  She was definitely the kind of person you wanted on your side and if she believed in something, she would go to the end of the earth for the cause.

To know her was to love her and she was an incredibly fun, caring and devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She had a loud, contagious laugh and if you were lucky enough to be in her company, you were guaranteed a wonderful time.

Myrna will be reunited with her parents and until we meet again …. so long dear lady.

Most sincere thanks to Drs Alex Kmet and Sally Macdonald for their care and compassion and the many family & friends who supported Myrna along the way.

“If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together, keep me in your heart, I’ll stay there forever”
