Barbara Collins
Barbara Jane Florence Gullion was born November 24th, 1932 in Athabasca, Alberta. After spending her childhood and teenage years there, Barbara moved to British Columbia to raise her family. Later in life, with her children grown, Barbara began a new life here in Whitehorse. She worked many years at Remax Action Realty and later branched into property management. Barbara had a genuine love for people, and truly cared about their well-being; this shone through in her personality and career.
Barbara was an ordained minister and while in this role she was fortunate to bring many loving unions together. Barbara was very spiritual in her beliefs and referred to her guiding angel as Shalandra, who always kept her spirits and resilience strong. She operated Linking Pathways, a spiritual healing centre out of her home for many years. She believed if it were for your highest good, your guiding spirit would show you the way. Barbara was a shining light for so many people in her life.
Barbara leaves behind the following surviving children, DeDe Nippising (Mike), Lee Syvret, Hollie Gullion-Just (Dan), Kassity Allison (Rodney), Darryel Collins (Sharon), Christina Collins, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Barbara is also survived by her sister Pat Silkie (Bill), her brother John Gullion (Peg), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Barbara joins her predeceased sons Harvey and Brian Syvret, as well brother Ron Gullion and sister Beatrice Gullion.
Her positive spirit and caring ways have made a difference in many lives. Now it is Barbara’s turn to rest, and we send her spirit home with much love.
A Celebration of Life for Barbara Collins will be held May 4, 2019, at the Riverdale Baptist Church starting at 12:00 p.m.

Barbara was an absolutely wonderful lady. She helped me out during an extremely difficult time in my life and I will never forget her kindness. She was so sweet. I will always think of her anytime I see a little crystal angel- like the one she kept in her van 🙂
