James Raymond Richards

James (Jim) Richards passed away peacefully in Whitehorse, Yukon on October 15, 2016 just a few weeks before his 54th birthday.

Jim was the proud father to two sons, Steven and Theoren (Theo), both of Whitehorse. He is also survived by his former wife and devoted friend, Carol Richards of Whitehorse; his mother, Joyce Richards of Tacoma, Washington; his brother, Steve Richards of Owensboro, Kentucky; and his favourite companion – his dog, Blue.

Jim was pre-deceased by his beloved brother Joe Richards (Idaho), and his parents-in-law, Wayne and Lona Hobbs (Whitehorse).

The family invites friends to join them at a celebration of Jim’s life, which will be held on Saturday November 5, 2016 from 2 pm to 4 pm at the Whitehorse Curling Club lounge, # 1 Sumanik Drive, Whitehorse.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada would be appreciated.

My condolences to you Carol and boys in your sad loss. I have many good memories of Jim laughing and telling stories around the campfire on the trail into
Algae Lake for Rouge River. He was a good hand and fun to work with out there in the remote mountain country and a capable guide. My thoughts be with you.
