    Dear Family

I was posted at Fort Norman 1958 to 1960 with Rena and Reub and look back with fond memories of their hospitality and friendship. They were wonderful mentors to a young Constable. Our families were together in Whitehorse and enjoyed a life long friendship of shared experiences. Our sincere condolences on the passing of this wonderful northern pioneer.

Debra, Robert and family, so sorry for your loss. Your mother was a lovely lady and we feel fortunate to have known her and your father. Our sincere sympathy to you and your family at this time.

Lyle & Cindy-thank for your condolences. I am so glad our families reconnected later in life and that your dad and Joy spent many good times with my mom & dad. They were always pleased to run into the two of you & catch up.

Well, although it is sad that such a lovely, lovely woman has moved on to be with “her Reub”, I cannot help but smile as I think of “Mrs. Fendrick”. She was always a smiling, good morning face in “the office ” of FH Collins many many years ago. Mrs. Fendrick was a staple in our lives. Her memory will live on in our thoughts. It was a pleasure seeing her around town and I know she always enjoyed seeing me and hearing about, what I was up to.

Sorry to hear of Rena’s passing. Glad we had a chance to visit with her and Reub at a recent Yukoner’s. Had a lot of laughs from years spent with them in Whitehorse.

Dear Debra, Robert & families, We are remembering Rena – a very special lady dedicated to her family and home. Rena & Reub were our neighbours in Riverdale, Wolf Creek and Marsh Lake. Rena & Reub were an inspiration to us in how to live life and raise wonderful children.

Robert, Debra and families, There really aren’t any words to express how much we will all miss Rena, as we miss Reub. Rena was always such a lady and all of the younger wives looked up to her. Her life was an example to many.
    Our thoughts are with you.

Debra, thank you so much for replying to my Christmas letter, sent on behalf of my mother Evelyn Morrison, wife of the late Al Morrison. Though Dad never served up north both he and Mom really enjoyed the trip they made to visit your Dad and Mom decades ago. Mom and Rena corresponded until Mom was no longer able to. As others have said, they were pioneers, both of them. And larger than life. I hope someone will write a memoir or biography of one of both of them. I know I would buy and read it! Wishing you peace, joy, happy memories and fulfillment as you grieve the loss of your Mom. Kind regards to Rena’s extended family members.
