Gathering, Celebration of Life, Funeral Service, Memorial Service are the terms commonly used for an event honouring the life and death of a loved one. These events can be private for close family members and friends, or public and open to all. They can be as unique and personal as suits your loved one.
CREMATION
We offer a variety of cremation options, from a very basic cremation, to a witnessed cremation (where family is present before or at the time of cremation), to having a traditional funeral followed by cremation.
BURIAL
Many people believe that choosing burial also means having a traditional church funeral. But there are many possibilities around burial, from a simple graveside service or a private gathering with the casket present, to a full traditional funeral service with processional to the cemetery.
“Why is it so expensive to die?” is a question that many funeral directors are asked. It is not always an easy question to answer.
Most of the professionals in our field of work are here because it is a “calling”, a true desire to care for people at one of the most difficult times in their lives. This is where the rewards of funeral service come from; knowing that we have done all we could to make this time of a person’s death a time of healing as well. We believe that caring for the dead, and for their loved ones, is an important and profound task. It is a time that deserves great respect.
The “money” side of our profession is a practical reality of every kind of business; overhead, staff wages, utilities, taxes, inventory, maintenance, education. A sustainable business needs to have a balanced bank account, or it cannot survive. Our fees and prices are set to balance out the costs of doing business.
Part of what complicates the public’s perception of costs is the wide range of funeral service providers. Funeral homes range from full-service funeral homes to discount providers. Discount funeral service providers use third party subcontractors. This means fewer overhead costs, but it also means that a person’s body is being transported several times, is in the care of many different people and low cost is the driving force. This is an important option for people.

Your loved one will not leave our personal care from the time we transfer them from their place of death to when the burial or cremation process is complete.
