Sydney (Garry) Garth Tuckey

Born January 29, 1958, in Calgary, Alberta Died April 9, 2026, at Wind River Hospice, Whistle Bend, Whitehorse from lung cancer.

He was 68 years old. Garry was born in Calgary to Sydney Frank Tuckey (Scotland) and Islay May Briemon (Saskatchewan). He moved to the Yukon in 1975 when he was 17 years old. He started working in construction with his family and eventually became a highly skilled drywaller. Garry is predeceased by his grandparents and his mother and father.

He is survived by his beloved son Matthew, Daughter Jessica and son Kole. He is also survived by Kim (sister) and Richard (brother-in-law), Cory and Shelley (half-sisters), Ron (brother-in-law) and (nieces) Sarah, Breanne & Sydney. Garry has numerous aunts & uncles; and many cousins… he always held a special place in his heart for his family.

Garry loved socialising and being with his friends. He was a huge sports fan and particularly enjoyed his Toronto Blue Jays and the Calgary Flames. He enjoyed listening to music, playing cribbage and loved to be on the golf course during the beautiful Yukon lengthy days of summer. Fun-fact… Garry loved flowers, plants and animals.

Garry’s generous heart will be missed by many and one thing for certain he will celebrate being reunited with his beloved Mother at Grey Mountain Cemetery. A love that was never-ending.
