Don Evans
Despite his immense bravery and the heroic efforts of the doctors in both Whitehorse General Hospital
and St. Paul’s Hospital, Vancouver, Don ultimately decided it was time to leave this world on May 27, 2025.
Don was born in Vancouver September 30, 1944 and he was so proud that having reached the age of 80 he was the oldest surviving Evans ever!
His presence and humour will be missed by his wife, Barbara, son Ryan (Lisa), grandson Michael (Jenn), siblings and friends.
Don will be remembered as a tough and tireless advocate for employment fairness as the Teamster Local 31 Business Agent for 24 years. He was a valued member of the Whitehorse Elks Lodge and Fraternal Order of Eagles in Skagway.
Don was a generous friend whose sense of humour was notorious; his passions were Fishing, Snowmobiling, ATVing, Camping and Coors Lite… not in that order!
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, June 25 at 2:00 pm. at the Whitehorse Elks Hall (401 Hawkins St.) and anyone with fond memories, stories or keepsakes are invited to attend and share.

Ernie Berken
Dear Barb and family,
My condolences go out to you for Don’s passing. I sense that Don had a good life and enjoyed all that the outdoors had to offer.
I had several encounters with Don over many years and appreciated his constant humour which had never faded.
Sincerely, Ernie Berken.

My condolences to Barb, Ryan, and family. I remember Don well as my dad’s coworker and friend.
