Frank Hanrath
The family of Frank J. Hanrath would like to announce the passing of their dad, opa, great-opa, on June 29, 2025, at Whistle Bend Place. He passed away with family at his side and it was very peaceful. He was 96 yrs old.
He is predeceased by his wife, Paula (Scholten) and his youngest daughter, Lidwina. His children are Joe (Pat), Ingrid (Norm), Ellen (Rick), and Pauline (Jim – deceased). His grandchildren are: Tashina (Dan), Alysia (Greg), Josh (Jenna), Andrew (Maddy), Kimberly (Sheldon), Aprile (Lionel), Julie (Eric), Amanda (Brent), Shelley, Zach (Liz), and Josh (Kendra). Great grand-children are: Abi, Xander, Maddy, Jordan, Caylee, Cayden, Adison and Chloe.
Frank was very dedicated to his church and served as a caretaker, handyman and anything else the church needed at Our Lady of Victory RC Church in Whitehorse for many years until he was admitted to Whistle Bend Place 2 years ago.
Frank was a member of the Knights of Columbus where he could be seen volunteering at any one of their events such as Rendezvous, garage sales or sourdough pancake breakfasts.
His faith was very important to him, and he has passed this torch to his children.
A funeral mass is planned for Saturday July 5th at Our Lady of Victory RC Church at 10 AM followed by a reception and a time to share memories. Internment will be at Grey Mountain Cemetery at approximately 12:45 PM.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Whistle Bend Place for the love and care they showed our dad and the personal touches you each brought to your care for him.
As expressions of sympathy (only if you wish) donations can be made to Our Lady of Victory Church or one of Frank’s favourite charities Covenant House in Ontario.
