Kimberly Ann (Kim) Sparks

August 15, 1947 ~ August 15, 2025

Kimberly Ann (Kim) Sparks

Kim was an only child born to Irene and J. Bev Thompson in Toronto, Ontario.

Kim’s love of adventure started in childhood and by the time she was 20, Kim was backpacking through Europe with a close friend from school.  After a short time back in Toronto working as a secretary, Kim headed to The Yukon in the spring of 1971.

Soon after the move Kim met her lifelong companion, Clive.  They were married in December 1971 and spent the next 54 years enjoying life and travelling extensively through Europe plus visiting New Zealand.

While travelling was one of her passions, Kim was also a hard-working person who served as a travel agent for many years, worked for the Humane Society and finally operated her own secretarial business for 20 years.

Kim and Clive moved to Sidney, BC when they retired in 2014.  They made a number of trips together in the next 11 years before Kim was diagnosed with cancer in April 2025.  She passed peacefully at home on her birthday with her husband at her side.

A special Thank You goes out to the Vancouver Island Health Home and Community Care Team who provided compassionate and excellent support services for Kim.

At Kim’s request there will not be a funeral service.  Friends are asked to raise a glass to Kim and remember the good times they had with her.
