Ronald Patrick John Stack

January 21st, 1947 ~ July 25th, 2025

Ronald Patrick John Stack

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Ron Stack on July 25th at Whitehorse General Hospital.

Ronnie is Survived by his brother Stephen, and his sisters Susanne, Patricia, Janey, Kathryne and Lorna. He is Predeceased by his wife Connie and Survived by his Only son Michael, wife Anita, and grandchildren Dallas (Amanda) Anthony, Jasmine (Cole) and Saphire.

Ronnie was born and raised in Ontario on a farm in the Ottawa valley. He decided to move West to Kamloops BC where he met Connie. After a short time they moved to North of 60, The Yukon Territory.

It all started at mile 733 of the Alaska Highway where the next 15 years, along with Michael, were dedicated to the trapline in winter months and mining and prospecting in the summer.

The 40 years that followed found Ron traipsing up every river valley and over every mountain along with his favorite dog “Key” as he prospected, cut line and lived his best life in the bush.

Along the way he discovered the largest kimberlite field in the NWT.

In 2013 Ron was awarded the much sought after Prospector of the Year for his discovery of the Goldbank Trend on Goldstrike Resources Plateau north of Ross River which returned assays of over 34.25 grams per ton gold on an 11 kilometer find.

Along with numerous friends and business associates including Glen Harris, Bob Scott, Gary Lee and Mike Power his contribution to the mining community remains unsurpassed.

He will be greatly missed by friends and family alike.

Rest in Peace Mom and Dad together again.
