Sharon Elizabeth Garnet Ulrich (née Bebak)

March 13, 1970 ~ October 26, 2025

Sharon Elizabeth Garnet Ulrich (née Bebak)

It is with loving remembrance and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon Ulrich (Bebak) on October 26, 2025, at the age of 55.

Born in Churchill, Manitoba on March 13, 1970, Sharon began life surrounded by the beauty of the North, a place that would shape her spirit forever. In 1976 she moved with her family to the Yukon, arriving with two cats, an abundance of plants, and three generations packed into a car: her parents, Keith and Helen Bebak (Paizen), and her grandmother, Eleanor Bebak (Hayes). The territory became her lifelong home.

Sharon’s journey took her from Churchill to Whitehorse, then to Winnipeg to attend the University of Manitoba, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Zoology. She continued her passion for learning by completing an Animal Assisted Therapy Certificate, Animal Training Certificates, a Horticulture Certificate, a Heritage Interpreter Certificate, and many more.

She returned to the Yukon and soon settled on an acreage in Ibex Valley with her partner, Travis Ulrich, whom she met during a card game, fitting with her lifelong love of board and card games. In 1996, Sharon and Travis married and began building a life together. They welcomed their two children: daughter Kataya in 1999 and son Tanner in 2001.

Over the years she contributed her time and talents at the Mae Bachur Animal Shelter, the Beringia Interpretive Centre, and Inclusion Yukon. She fulfilled one of her dreams by becoming the owner and operator of Northern Spirit Alpaca Farm, where her deep love for animals flourished.

A lifelong animal caretaker and proud border collie mom, Sharon’s four-legged companions were a cherished part of her life. She enjoyed photography, hiking, reading, playing board games, and cheering for the Toronto Raptors (go Raptors!).

Sharon will be lovingly remembered by her husband Travis Ulrich; her children Kataya Ulrich and Tanner Ulrich; her mother Helen Bebak (Paizen); her father Keith Bebak; and many extended family members, friends, neighbors, and members of the Yukon community. She also leaves behind her beloved pets: dogs Breeze and Rocket, and cats Velcrow and Solo.

She is predeceased by her soul dog Flash; dogs Ranger, Tucker, and Stoney; and her cherished cats Rustee, Marishka, Kazmurak, Ratika, Cinder, Blayzen, and Sprinkle. She is also predeceased by her grandparents Eleanor Bebak (Hayes), Ferdinand Bebak, Mary Paizen (Boychuk), and Nick Paizen.

Sharon will be remembered most for her love for her family, her kindness and generosity, her strength of spirit, and her dedication to animals.

Her final resting place is in Grey Mountain Cemetery, Section Q, where people may visit and pay their respects.

To celebrate Sharon’s spirit, go for a hike or dog walk, enjoy a round of Catan or Wingspan, or consider adopting an animal who needs a forever home.
