Alan John Dibbs
The family of Alan John Dibbs sadly announce that he passed away December 12, 2025, after a long battle with dementia. Alan, born on April 2, 1936, in London, England served 3 years in the RAF. He married Christine and had a son, Stephen. The family immigrated to Canada, settling in Whitehorse, where 3 daughters, Susan, Sandra, and Sharon were born. Alan and Christine later divorced.
Alan truly believed in giving back to his community and did so, serving as an active member of the Lake Lebarge Lions club for over 40 years, even becoming District 49-B’s District Governor for 2001-2002. On one of his many Lion’s convention trips he met Ann and they married in Sitka, Alaska on June 24, 1983. They moved to Whitehorse with Ann’s daughter Sally, and son, Michael. Alan worked for the City of Whitehorse, and YTG, as well as running the International House Bed and Breakfast with Ann for many years.
Alan is predeceased by his father John, mother Florence, sisters Margaret and Pamela, son Stephen and grandson Myron.
He is survived by his wife Ann, brother Gordon (Margaret), daughters Susan (Brent), Sandra (Willy), and Sharon, stepdaughter Sally (Troy), stepson Mike (Jill) and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A public celebration of life will be held March 19, 2026, at 1:00pm, Heritage North Funeral Home, 1101 Centennial Street, Whitehorse.
