Aria Hanna Marie Tripp

In Loving Memory of Aria Hanna Marie Tripp

September 20, 2013 – August 1, 2026

It is with unimaginable heartbreak that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our beautiful Aria Hanna Marie Tripp on August 1, 2026. She was just 12 years old.

Aria was born in Whitehorse, Yukon, on September 20, 2013; a tiny, 6 lb 14 oz bundle of joy who quickly grew into a personality far bigger than anyone could have imagined.

Aria was magnetic, funny, courageous, and unapologetically herself. She filled every room with laughter, finding humour in almost anything. Never afraid to speak her mind, she often did it with humour and just the right amount of sass.

Her style was always changing, but it remained unmistakably Aria. Brightly coloured hair, unique eyebrows, and wild outfits—whatever the look, she made it her own and wore it with unwavering confidence. Aria danced freely without worrying about who might be watching.

Aria did not wait for life to happen – not because she was without fear, but because she dared to live every moment. She was always ready to say yes to a new experience, an adventure, hard work, or someone needing her help. With Aria around, you could be sure plans were forming, and she often led the way.

She was also someone people could count on. Aria noticed when others needed comfort, made a point of including everyone, and was especially caring with younger children. With so many siblings, cousins, and families connected through friendships that began long before she was born, Aria had become an expert babysitter. She was eager to put those skills to work – and willing to take on any other job that might help her earn and save some money.

Some of Aria’s happiest times were spent travelling, camping, and fishing with her mom throughout the Yukon and beyond. She was never simply along for the ride. Aria helped prepare for each trip, was quick to unload upon arrival, and eagerly took part in the adventure she had helped make possible. Whether travelling to Mexico or fishing for grayling near town, she found joy in living each moment to its fullest.

After completing Grade 7 at Jack Hulland Elementary School, where she received an academic achievement award, Aria was excited to begin her next milestone: Grade 8 at Porter Creek Secondary School. Academics were important to her, and she dreamed of one day continuing her education at university.

Aria loved soccer, volleyball, cooking, being outdoors, and simply spending time with her friends. She often created colourful and imaginative drinks from whatever pop, juice, iced tea, or other ingredients she could find, turning them into something special to share.

Aria loved good music of every variety, from AC/DC and Led Zeppelin to Morgan Wallen and Bruno Mars. She treasured attending concerts with her mom and was already trying to plan the next one with her friends. In her spare time, she continued teaching herself Spanish in anticipation of her next adventure abroad.

Her friends meant everything to her, and she loved each of them. Her confidence, humour, and kindness also carried far beyond her closest circle, touching many lives and leaving a lasting impact. Aria was a leader among her friends, but she was also someone they could trust for comfort, encouragement, laughter, and a place to belong.

Above all, Aria loved her family. She leaves behind her loving mother, Kaila Henley; her father, Mike Tripp; her stepmother, Kaighen Munro; and her cherished siblings, Myah, Lincoln, Walker, and Parker.

She will be forever missed by her Nanna Dakira and Grandma Sonja; her aunties and uncles, Mercedes (Jonathan), Talia, Bryton, Brandi, Alysha, and Joy; her great-aunties and great-uncles, Jackie (Rob), Brad (Miranda), Tyler, and Travis; and her cousins, Gerald, Ted, Charlie, Henry, Evelyn, William, Mayzie, Zayla, Kaydia, Emreigh, Thylo, Bree, Atiya, Aridessa, Avery, and Jason. Aria will also be deeply missed by her large extended family, teammates, classmates, and many dear friends.

Twelve years was nowhere near enough time for all Aria hoped to see, learn, and become. Yet in those twelve years, she lived with courage and openness many people spend a lifetime trying to find. She laughed loudly, loved fiercely, welcomed others in, and embraced every chance to experience something new.

She will be remembered around campfires, on soccer fields and volleyball courts, in loud songs, wild outfits, and in every ordinary moment made brighter because she was there. She will live on in the people she included, the friends she comforted, the children she cared for, and every life made brighter because she was there.

May she rest peacefully, remembered always for living fully, courageously, and unapologetically as Aria.

Aria’s celebration of life will be held at the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre on Wednesday, August 19, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.

This is a community celebration, and everyone is warmly and sincerely invited.
