Bradley John Thompson

Bradley John Thompson

Bradley John Thompson was born on March 31, 1948, in Edmonton, Alberta, and passed away on December 18, 2025, in Whitehorse, Yukon.

Brad spent many years working in telecommunications, where he built a career marked by dedication and hard work before retiring. Retirement didn’t slow him down, however, as he went on to work at Walmart in a department manager role that he truly loved and took great pride in.

Above all else, Brad’s greatest love and devotion were to his wife, Mary. Married for 51 years, they were truly inseparable, sharing life side by side and doing everything together. Their partnership was built on love, respect, laughter, and teamwork, and the bond they shared leaves a lasting legacy for their family to remember and cherish.

Brad was a kind, gentle, and generous soul, known for his mischievous side and great sense of humour. He was a devoted family man who would do anything for his family and for those around him. He loved gardening and working on his yard, camping and fishing with Mary and their children, and in later years found great joy in travelling and exploring new corners of the world. An avid amateur photographer, Brad was rarely without a camera or video camera, always ready to capture and preserve special moments. He had a lifelong love of technology and stayed up to date with the latest electronics, from computers to phones and tablets. A true handyman, Brad could fix almost anything and was always ready with practical advice and a helping hand when someone needed it.

Brad is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Mary Thompson; his children and their spouses, Kevin (Jody), Greg (Amanda), and Heather (Aaron); his four cherished grandchildren, Ana, Jaxon, Kaiden, and Ronin; and his beloved grand-dog, Tuxedo. He also leaves behind a large and loving family of in-laws who, over the years, became not just relatives but true family, as well as cousins, two nephews, and many friends and coworkers with whom he maintained close and lasting connections throughout his life.

He was predeceased by his father, Harrison Thompson; his mother, Marguerite Thompson Bryson; and his brother, Laird Thompson.

A celebration of Brad’s life will be planned at a future date, when the weather is warmer and more friends and family are able to travel. Brad will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Well my dear brother-in-law, I won’t be saying goodbye. Rather catch you later. I’m sure we will all be meeting up one of these days. You left behind a loving family and it will only continue to grow. You were surrounded by love and family when you crossed over. You will never be forgotten as there will be many stories to share. You have no idea what a hole you left in many hearts. Be at peace and keep everyone entertained with your sappy jokes. 😊 Love you Brad.
    Love your baby sister-in-law

It has been a very long month since I have been able to sit with you and hold your hand and share with you my thoughts and hopes for us yet to come. But that was not to be. I didn’t realize how tired you were and how hard you were trying to make my dreams come true. You always made my life a joy and celebrating 51 years of marriage with you makes me proud to be your wife. I am feeling lost without you but I hold you in my heart with in every breath I take. We created a strong family and their familys too. They are teaching their kids all that they learned from you. You would be so proud. I loved you then I love you now and I will always love you – till we meet again my love
