Connie Stack
Constance Joan “Connie” Stack (nee Michell) passed away on December 9, 2020 at Whitehorse General Hospital after some difficult medical setbacks that she could not fight past. She is survived by her three brothers, two sisters, and her immediate family; husband Ron Stack, his stepson and Connie’s son Michael Stack (Anita), and their children, Dallas, Anthony, Jasmin and Sapphire.
Connie was born on the rugged North Coast of BC on April 21, 1949, to Bill and Margaret Michell (both of Hodgeville, Sask). As their oldest Connie was a hard-working person right from the start as she was always there helping out her mother raising her siblings. She grew up to be a beautiful young woman who never seemed to have any trouble finding a smile for all those around her.
She was appreciated by all those who had the chance to meet her and her friends always had good things to say about her. She lived in various places as a young woman including Stewart BC, Bella Coola BC, Regina Sask, Kelowna BC, and Kamloops BC where she met and married Ron. From Kamloops, they moved to Swift River, Yukon to a trapline that Ron worked in the late ’70s. From Swift River, they moved to a property south of Whitehorse on Annie Lake Road. Connie successfully managed the Co-operators Insurance company in Whitehorse for a number of years before she retired in 2014. Many in town may know her from here. Connie made friends wherever she was living and working and she will be greatly missed!
There will only be a small private funeral, in lieu of flowers please donate to Diabetes Canada.

My deepest condolences to you Mike and Ron. I’ll always remember Connie coming over to visit my mother at Swift River back in the day, she would usually bring her cigarette machine and sit at our kitchen table visiting while making smokes. Her smile and laugh were both unforgettable and she was a big part of our lives in that tiny community back then.

I’ll miss you Connie.
When I was a kid you were always there for me.
The world is a bit darker without you in it.
You were a true friend. I love you
