David James Mc Laughlin
August 23, 1949 -June 23, 2026
Sadly, David James McLaughlin passed away on June 23, 2026. He has been reunited with his lifelong partner Margey,
David was born in Edmonton Alberta on August 23, 1949. He ventured to the Yukon as a young man and in 1975 he met Margey O’Connor and they went on to spend a wonderful life together travelling to warmer climates, gardening, playing slowpitch and enjoying the company of their Yorkshire Terriers.
David was a well known tile layer in Whitehorse, having owned Bell Ceramics named after their first home on Bell Crescent and later City Marble & Tile. Some of the larger tile jobs for David included the Yukon Government Legislative Building, the Qwanlin Mall back when there was Woolworths and the Malt Shop and popular Whitehorse homes and hotels.
David was interested in pretty much anything Margey was interested in whether it was their home and garden, celebrating special occasions or cheering on the Blue Jays. He loved manicuring his yard and took great pride in his lawn and greenhouse. He was always extremely creative and was always dreaming up something to build for their outdoor oasis, including a landscaped pond and carefully trimmed trees complete with hanging artificial lemons.
David suffered with ailing health issues over the last several years and longed to be with Margey after she passed earlier this year. It is comforting to know that he can now rest easy, reunited in peace with Margey in their afterlife.
Their love story did not end; it simply found its forever
