Frederick Wayne Rankin
Frederick Wayne Rankin passed away peacefully with family by his side at WGH in Whitehorse, Yukon where he lived the past 15 years. Born in Williams Lake to Fred and Rose Rankin of Soda Creek, Wayne was a descendant of several early Cariboo pioneer families; Dussault, Lyne, Shepherd, and Rankin.
He was predeceased by his parents, and brother Gary. He leaves to mourn his siblings; Jim Rankin (Joan), Dale Benastick, Geraldine Ablitt, Pearl Moore (Don), Gordon Rankin; as well as nine nieces and nephews, their families, and many cousins and friends. Wayne is also mourned by his Whitehorse “family of nieces”; Abby (Mike), Debbie, Roberta, April, and special great niece Jocelyn; daughters and grandchild of his good friend and business partner Ross Morgan.
Wayne’s family are very grateful to Dr. Jamieson and the WGH nursing and social work staff for the excellent care he received.
There will be no service by Wayne’s request. Interment of Wayne’s ashes will take place on Saturday May 20, 2019 at 2:00pm in the Soda Creek Cemetery.
