Harvey Roske

June 5, 1942 ~ March 23, 2023

Harvey Roske

Harvey, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and good friend passed away peacefully on March 23, 2023, at Copper Ridge Place, Whitehorse.

Harvey was born in Serath, SK on June 5th, 1942.  He married Laura Anderson on June 29, 1963. Harvey, Laura and their three children moved to Whitehorse after visiting family in Whitehorse for Christmas, 1973. Family was blessed to see Laura and Harvey celebrate their 54th Wedding Anniversary on June 29th, 2017, just prior to Laura passing away.

Harvey started off as a farmer in Sask. After moving to the Yukon, he worked at Finning, Caron Diamond Drilling, Elvin’s Equipment and the City of Whitehorse, before retiring in 2004. After retirement, to keep busy, he got into sales with Lawson Products.

Harvey enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved playing cards and making puzzles. But his all-time favorite activity was going for a drive. It wouldn’t be unheard of to hop in the car and drive to Skagway (or Saskatchewan) for an ice cream cone.

Harvey is survived by his children, Benita (Keith) Parkkari, Peter (Carolyn), Jason (Krista); three grandchildren (Kordel, Isabel and Kate); sisters-in-law, Esther (Bob) McNeill and Sandra (Al) Edey; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and special family friends, Pete and Marg McCracken and family.

Harvey’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Copper Ridge Place for the exceptional care they provided to Harvey over the past nine months.

Uncle Harvey was a kind and caring guy who always connected with his Roske neices and nephews in Saskatchewan and Ontario. May he rest in peace. Sending love, thoughts and prayers to the family.
