Rauman, Helen Elizabeth nee Graham
It is with heavy hearts that her family and friends announce her passing on Tuesday October 4th, 2016 at Macaulay Lodge in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory. Born August 13, 1939 to parents Douglas Graham and Florence (Seaton) – Graham at Anson General Hospital, Iroquois Falls, Ontario.
She had brothers Gordon & Howard and sisters Ruby, Edna, Grace, Evelyn and Eileen. Left to mourn are her sons Kent Rauman of Whitehorse and Terry (Michelle) Rauman of Scottsdale, Arizona, her sister in law Frances Graham of Iroquois Falls, Ontario, brother in law Roland Belhumeur of Porquis Jct. Ontario, sister in laws Charlotte Graham & Mildred Graham and her “Kid” sister Eileen husband Lucien Lachapelle all from Iroquois Falls, Ontario & sister in law Diane Randall of Ladner, British Columbia, cousins, nieces, nephews & in laws in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta and many friends in Whitehorse. A special friend Diane Duncan who she always said “was like a daughter to her” and her family, husband Daryl and daughters Dara and Tamara and their families.
Predeceased by her parents Douglas & Florence Graham, former husband John Rauman, brother Gordon, sister Ruby husband Albert Vickers, sister Edna husband Walter Frank, sister Grace husband Tom Wheeler, sister Evelyn Belhumeur, brother Howard Graham, sister in law Margaret(Rauman) husband John Flesher.
We would like to acknowledge the local Alcoholics Anonymous group for all the support she received over the years. On March 7th, 2016 she celebrated her 32nd sobriety birthday. Thank you to all!
Also at this time we would like to thank Dr. Blaker for the excellent care she was given over the years and especially at the end. To all the Macaulay Lodge staff – programs, nursing, kitchen, housekeeping & maintenance thank you for always being there for her every need. Since February 2015 she has called this her home and she meant it in every sense of the word because you made it home for her.
On Thursday October 27, 2016 a Visitation will be held at 1:00pm with Reverend Beverly Brazier officiating a Celebration of Life at 2:00pm at Heritage North Funeral Home in Whitehorse (412 Cook Street) with lunch and refreshments to follow.
In the summer of 2017 a memorial service will be held at the Porquis Jct. Union Cemetery, Porquis Jct. Ontario where she will be laid to rest with her parents.
In lieu of flowers, she has requested donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca/en/?region=bc)
