Joseph Rodolphe (Rudy) Couture
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and beloved friend.
On April 28, 2025 Joseph Rodolphe (Rudy) Couture passed away at the Whitehorse General Hospital at the age of 95. Born on March 4, 1930, in Edmonton, Alberta, Rudy moved to the Yukon in 1954 with his family and resided in Watson Lake, Faro and Whitehorse.
Rudy was the only child, born to the late Emile & Alma Couture; predeceased by his wife Janet, daughter Wendolyn and son-in law Wilson Callahan. He is survived by his loving daughters; Judith Couture, Glenda Power (Bill); 5 grandchildren, Kristofer Temple (Stephanie), Garrett Temple, Kip Callahan (Tania Pope), Krista Power (Chris Spurrell) and Jody Power (John Minder); and great grandchildren, twins Nash and Logan Temple.
Rudy was a kind and compassionate man, whose deep devotion to his family and faith defined his life. He led with warmth and understanding, always offering unwavering support and gentle guidance to those around him. His legacy is one of love, wisdom, and quiet strength—qualities that will forever guide those who knew him. While his absence leaves an undeniable void, his spirit remains alive in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to share in his journey. Rudy’s presence was a gift, and his memory will forever be woven into the hearts of his loved ones, bringing comfort and strength in the days ahead.
A funeral and celebration of life will be held for Rudy at the Sacred Heart Cathedral on Friday, May 9, 2025 starting at 2:00 p.m. Reception will follow at the CYO Hall (downstairs of the Church).
The family wishes to extend their thanks and sincere appreciation to Doctors S. Biss and S. Buchanan, the nurses of the Medical Ward, and support staff of the Whitehorse General Hospital, for their professional and compassionate care and attention of Rudy.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to, Maryhouse, 506 Cook Street.

RUDY was a wonderful man, always had a smile on his face and always offered me warm greetings. I remember when he was living in Faro but still actively involved with the Knights of Columbus. I will always remember him as a dear Friend. My prayers will be with him.
THANKS for being part of my life.

On behalf of the Fitzsimmons family we are so sorry for your loss.
I worked with Rudy for years and he was also close with my parents. He was a gentle kind soul that was always up for a hug.
My mom, your mom and your dad are now hanging out in heaven looking over us.
