Joyce Elizabeth Bork (Née Dixon)
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the loss of our mother and grandmother, Joyce Bork of Faro, YT. Mom was 89.
Joyce was born in Indian Head, Saskatchewan. In her teens, she moved to the Vancouver area with her family.
Joyce loved to knit. She enjoyed a game of Scrabble, or a card game of bridge or crib. She also liked to do puzzles.
Mom loved a glass of red wine at suppertime, she said it was good for her heart.
Joyce worked for a number of years at the Royal Bank in Oliver, BC and Whitehorse. She also made three trips to Europe.
Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Walter Bork; father, Reginald Dixon; mother, Mary Anne Andros; stepfather, Andros; brother, Archie Dixon; and her beloved Gramps.
Joyce is survived by her children, Sharie Levesque (Ralph), Warren Bork (Tracy), Kathleen (Darrell); Granddaughter Rachelle Levesque; and many nieces and nephews.
Joyce will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her many friends and family.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Whitehorse General Hospital, the Faro Nursing Station, the Faro Volunteer Ambulance Services, and the Medivac team for all the compassion and care they showed for our mother Joyce.
At Joyce’s request there will be no service.
We love and miss you mom XO R.I.P.
