Laurie Dale Miles

Known affectionately as “Muffie” to many who loved her, Laurie Miles (nee Sweeney) passed away on November 4, 2022, at her home in Whitehorse, in her 64th year. With her husband Philip by her side, Muffie left this world after a courageous battle with cancer.

Muffie will be deeply missed every day by her husband, Philip Miles; her daughter Kristine Carruthers (Kyle); and her two grandchildren, Marcus and Luca. Muffie will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Doreen (Del) Latham; her brother Robin Sweeney (Kathy); her sister Kim Tansley (Paul); and many other friends and loved ones, including her dog, Cookie.

In lieu of flowers, Muffie would love it if you spent time with those important to you, doing something kind for someone else, or making a donation to the Canadian Mental Health Association or the Canadian Cancer Society.

The family would like to thank all those who aided in Muffie’s care throughout her illness. And a special thank you to those who brought her joy and comfort throughout her life.

A celebration of Muffie’s life will be held at a future date.
