Marcelle Nancy White

March 15, 1933 ~ June 29, 2024

Marcelle Nancy White

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving Mother, Grandmother (GMA) and Great-Grandmother.

Marcie passed away peacefully at the age of 91 with family by her side.

Marcie was born in Kenora, Ontario on March 15, 1933, to Philip Creed and Christina Florence Buss/Tapp). She was raised in a family of ten, with five brothers, and four sisters.

Mom married Dad (Thomas “Floyd” White) on Aug 16, 1952. They had five children, Bob, Amy, Kenny, Kevin, and Kelly. They started their life and family together in Kenora, then moved to Mount Forest Ontario where they worked on the White Family Homestead until work took them North to Yellowknife N.W.T. where they lived from 1963 to 1976. They lived in Armstrong, BC, for a few short years, then followed their children back up North to the land of the Midnight Sun in 1983, where they made Whitehorse, Yukon their home and final journey.

Mom was predeceased by her husband Floyd (May 2000), her siblings, Charles (Bert) Hunnisett, Eileen Portier, Phyllis Kitt, Frank Creed, Philip Creed Jr., Madeline Attrux, Billy Creed, and Joanne Attrux.

Mom (“GMA”) always put her heart and soul into everything she did. Her emotional strength was beyond compare – she was clearly one of the strongest women we have ever known. She worked hard her whole life whether it was on the farm, raising her family, at Canada Post, or Yukon Government, she was a role model to all of us. She was always there when you needed her support or advice. Mom (GMA) had a way of knowing what you were going to say before you said it, and she always knew the right words to say, and when to say them. She taught us all to be strong, work hard, and make a life we could be proud of, and we will never forget her strength, values and compassion.  She had quite the sense of humor. She was super quick witted, and loved to laugh. GMA loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and living vicariously through their eyes. She was super proud of each and everyone of them.  She enjoyed watching sports on TV such as Golf, Baseball, and specifically NHL hockey where she loved to banter and text back and forth with family about the scores and which team was going to win (and oh how she loved when she was right 😉).

One of her favorite pastimes was working in the garden and later in life, supervising and watching us work when she couldn’t do the work herself anymore. She made a great superintendent and/or as she called herself “the Straw-Boss” following us around doing quality inspections from her golf cart.

She loved each and everyone of us deeply, even if sometimes it was with tough love. Anyone who was privileged to know and spend time with her, she made them feel like family.
Mom and Dad are together again and can now move onto their next journey.

Until we meet again… Mom (Marcie/GMA) you will be missed more than words can ever say.❤

Marcie is survived by her son’s Bob, Kenny and Kevin (Lisa). Her daughters Amy and Kelly (Bill). Her grandchildren Leanne, Reece, Jesse, Kelsey, Kendall, Santanna, Dustin, Darren, Ashley, Brandon, Jonathon, Tanner and Taryn. Her great grandchildren Anika, Nylee, Easton and Maddison. Her extended family Wendy, Gord, Michelle, Lisa and Montana. Her brother Lesley Creed and many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to the first responders, hospital staff, and Dr. Tadepalli for all the care provided to our Mom/Grandma recently and through the years.

Mom will be cremated and there will be no service held as per her request. Her wish for everyone is to celebrate her life in your own special way, remembering all the good times and memories that you shared.
