Maura was such a nice kind person, she was full of life and unafraid to try new activities including can can dancing later in life.

My condolences to Maura’s family and friends. Maura was a keen participant in the Yukon Orienteering Association events during the summer months. She enjoyed so much being outdoors in the forest. We will miss her lovey smile and
friendly face at our meets.

Maura was my first principal in Canada. Though we had lost touch over the years, I was very sad to hear of her passing. She was always fearless! Condolences to her family in Ireland and to her friends in Whitehorse. Rest in peace Maura.

We are deeply saddened by Maura’s passing. We spent time with her in several British Columbia communities. Maura’s resilience and sense of adventure always shone through wherever she lived. We particularly remember her time spent with our children when they were young. Mary and I last saw her in Whitehorse although she had earlier come to see us in Carcross when our cruise ship took us there on an inland excursion. Our later memories are of telephone calls and Christmas letters in which she regaled us with stories of her many travels and adventures; Antarctica particularly comes to mind. Our condolences to her family in Ireland, her Whitehorse community, and her friends wherever they may be.

Maura was very special to her line dance family. We once performed together at a Rendezvous event and Maura was a big hit. We have named a waltz that we dance after her – “Maura’s Waltz”
