Nara Lee

October 12, 1967 ~ July 15, 2024

Nara Lee

It is with a heavy heart we sadly announce the death of Nara Lee – a wonderful friend & co-worker who passed away after a brief but brave struggle with cancer.

Nara courageously set out on her own to the Yukon over a decade ago. She was a free spirit who lived her life on her terms right until her very last breath. Nara will be remembered for her love of music, international film, fine food and for her wonderful sense of humour. She was also a great friend and treated everyone with the utmost respect, kindness and compassion.

She is pre-deceased by her most beloved feline companion, Taylor who was the centre of her world and who she absolutely adored.

Nara’s Northwestel family celebrated her life with a gathering on Thursday July 25th, where she was remembered very fondly by her many friends.

We would all like to thank the compassionate nurses and health professionals at Whitehorse General Hospital for taking such exceptional care of Nara during her final days.

Don’t weep at my grave, for I am not there, I’ve a date with a butterfly to dance in the air. I’ll be singing in the sunshine, wild and free, Playing tag with the wind, while I’m waiting for thee.” 🦋

Nara will be remembered for all the smiles and laughter she brought to so many people. She was truly one in a million and will be greatly missed by her friends and coworkers.

The world lost a special soul with the passing of Nara. I used to work with Nara in the lower mainland many years ago, and even today she is still spoken of so highly. She was humble but highly educated, a bit reserved but yet also full of quirky surprises. And yes, she loved her cat “Taylor”. I still remember Nara being so patient when she first got him to wait for him to get close to her first on his terms when he felt safe to…she respected and loved him from day one. It is a reflection of how she treated everyone really. Even though I had not had contact with her for some time I see that she had made wonderful friends who were by her side…how blessed she was to have you all and how blessed were we all to have known Nara.
rest in peace until we see you again,
    love Ro ❤️
