Robert Cassel Snyder

November 11, 1947 ~ March 26, 2017

Robert Cassel Snyder

Robert (Bob) Cassel Snyder was born in Shoal Lake, MB, the third child of Cassel and Kathleen Snyder on November 11, 1947. Bob left to go home, March 26th, 2017, surrounded by his loved ones.
Dad was quite the opinionated guy. Those who knew him knew what subject to avoid if you wanted a civil conversation. Dad loved sports and over the years played hockey, baseball, basketball, and golf and always enjoyed watching curling. Dad spent over 31 years working for the Yukon and Northwest Territories governments before retiring in 2008. Dad loved his train sets and spent the last few years purchasing trains and building houses, stores and even grain elevators for his sets. Dad had a great sense of humor that could be considered a “little” inappropriate, and he would have found the humor in passing away at 69.
Dad loved his family and was very proud of his children and all his grandchildren. He loved hearing about all of their adventures.
Dad leaves behind his loving wife of 47.5 years, Kathleen, son, Darcy Snyder (Rosslyn) and daughters Kerri Scholz (Paul), Kristine Fujita (Ron) ; his grandchildren, Cody, Sharon, Colin, Sydney, Cassel, Hannah, Maya, Kyla, Jaxon, Ashlyn and great grandson Jayden. Also mourning the loss of dad are his extended family and friends across Canada.
Thank you to Dr. Breymer, Dr. Biss, the ER Nurses, EMS and the ICU nurses for your care and compassion during dad’s time of need.

A great husband, a great father, a great grandfather, and a great man: Love you forever.

A celebration of life will be arranged in the summer of 2017. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Whitehorse Legion, Humane Society, Food Bank or a charity of your choice in Bob’s name.
