Sharon Brenda Hanley
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon Hanley following a lengthy battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. This also took her loving mother Margret and her older sister Joan.
Sharon was born and grew up in Windsor Junction, Nova Scotia. In 1972 Sharon and then Husband Bob and son Christian moved to Inuvik. The following year they moved to Whitehorse on another adventure where she spent most of her adult life.
In her early years here, she worked for the Bank of Commerce, T.A. Firth & Sons and later for the Yukon Government starting at Consumer Services. Later her interests in the Coroner’s Office led to becoming the Chief Coroner of Yukon for the final 13 years of her time in Government.
In 1994 she met Bill and together they enjoyed boating and fishing in Southeast Alaska for over 25 years where they had many adventures together and met many wonderful new friends. She also loved cooking, travelling and spending time with family. Nova Scotia, New Zealand and Yukon were some of her favorite places.
Sharon leaves behind her loving partner Bill, son Christian, daughter-in-law Mellisa, beloved grandson Drew, brother Brian (Starlene), step sons David, Joel and Kelly and many nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Doctor’s Avery, Coholan, Kmet and Kanachowski and the staff at WGH for their great care. Further a shout out to our Home Care team Louise, Nancy, Emily and Alice.
A private family service will be held.

Sending light and love to you Bill and family. Sharon was awesome to work with and Darren and I both enjoyed her sense of humour so much. Safe travels Sharon, so glad our paths crossed even for a little while.

My heartfelt condolences to Bill, Christian and family. I loved running into Sharon around town because she was always so kind and walking away from her always involved a bit of a laugh or a smile. I do hope that the sadness you feel now is soon replaced with pleasant memories of the time spent with such a wonderful woman.

Sending my condolences to Bill and the family. I just found out today about Sharon’s passing. Sharon used to work with my Mom, and then eventually I worked in the same office area with Sharon and Bill for 12 years at YG. Such a beautiful person.
See you on the other side <3
