Vanessa Mae Bowers

December 6, 1965 ~ October 13, 2020

Vanessa Mae Bowers

It is with extremely heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Vanessa Mae (Ulrich) Bowers on October 13, 2020 at the young age of 54. Vanessa was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, whose bright smile and contagious laugh will live on forever in our memories. Vanessa had an enthusiasm for life that had no parallel, and we know she would consider this just the next great adventure. We bet she has already found the most “Heavenly” fishing spot!

Born in Flin Flon Manitoba, Vanessa moved to the Yukon when she was 4 years old. She was a long-time Yukoner who grew up in Whitehorse, loved the outdoors, and stayed in the North almost her entire life.

Vanessa will be lovingly remembered by her parents Carole and Lawrence Ulrich, her daughter Samantha Bowers, Samantha’s father Mark Bowers, step-son Trace Bowers, her sister Melinda Martin (Jeff), nieces Brittany and Jocelyn Martin, brother Travis Ulrich (Sharon), niece Kataya Ulrich and nephew Tanner Ulrich.

Vanessa will be dearly missed by all her family, friends and Walmart colleagues. An outdoor memorial will hopefully be held early next summer to share stories and laughs, and make some new memories together. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Vanessa’s memory to a charity of your choice.

So very sorry Carole, Lawrence, Melinda (Jeff) & family, Travis (Sharon) & family. There is never a time when we are “ready” to say goodbye to our loved ones. We will all be here for each other and the phone line is always open. I hope Vanessa has found her fishing spot. She will be missed by all and we have many memories and photos of her time here with us. Take care all of you and keep in touch.

Thank you so much for the love David!❤️I’m absolutely certain that Vanessa has found the best fishing hole up there, and right now she’s making new fishing buddies, and holding it down until we can all join her with our favourite rods.
