Wilfred Charles Taylor
Wilfred was born August 10, 1921 in Worksop Lincolnshire, England. Wilfred grew up in the foothills of Alberta after travelling from England at a very young age. Upon returning from war time service, Wilfred worked in Canada’s Western National Parks, and later worked with Forestry in Inuvik, NWT and Yukon. After retiring Wilfred returned to Alberta and raised Welsh Ponies. In June 2010, Wilfred returned to the Yukon to dabble with placer mining for gold.
Wilfred is predeceased by his wife Vera and son Bruce, survived by daughters: Joanne (Don) Green of Whitehorse, Lynn (Tom) Hedekar of Nanaimo, Karen Taylor (Darrel) of Edmonton, sons: Charles (Virginia) of Llyodminster and Hugh (Jean) of Creston, sixteen grandchildren, one step-grandchild, seventeen great grandchildren, eight step-great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday September 2, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Grace Community Church, located on 801 Wheeler Street, Whitehorse.
A reception will follow the service at the Legion, located on 503 Steele Street, Whitehorse.
