William “Bob” Robert Ewing

February 24, 1952 ~ April 22, 2024

William “Bob” Robert Ewing

William Robert (Bob) Ewing went home to be with the LORD on April 22, 2024 after an extensive stroke on March 3, 2024. Bob is the son of the late George Ewing from Motherwell, Scotland and the late Grace Bowie from Miramichi, New Brunswick.  Bob is survived by his wife Trudy, son Matthew Ewing (Tisha) from Atlin, daughters Grace Mills (Sam) from Tasmania and Michaela Ewing from Vancouver Island, granddaughters Abigail and Shelby, brother Ron Ewing (Wendy) from Gabriola Island and sister Lorna Donaldson (Don) from Lake Cowichan, and many nieces and one nephew.

Bob loved his family and friends and was known to always forgive and let all offenses roll by. Bob had a great sense of humour and was known for his “bobisms.” Bob enjoyed reading especially with his dog Tilly by his side.

Bob found great comfort in the following scripture:

“God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be anguish-sorrow and mourning – nor grief nor pain any more; for the old conditions and the former order of things have passed away.”

A Celebration of Life will be held in June.

My heart aches for the void you and your family are feeling. I am grateful to know that Bob has graduated – absent from the body, present with our Lord. Keeping you all in my prayers

So many smiles with Bob. I loved his wit and his “bobisms”. I would look forward to hearing them in the most outrageous times. I recall the first time I saw Bob – standing in Westwood Mennonite in PG, flicking his toothpick around with his tongue, wearing flannel and totally not fitting in and not caring. He was a man among men. I loved him immediately and then it was delightful to take in the wisdom that poured out of that man. Bob loved so well and gave the shirt off his back to anyone who was in need. I loved his expressions and the way he loved to laugh and to tease. Nothing got by Bob. He is with the Lord and more alive now than ever before – for that I am thankful. May the Lord bless and keep you, Trudy as you traverse this life without your Bob. What a special time we had in February and I am grateful the Lord gifted me with that time with you and Bob. We love you both and we will see you in June. I know that if Kevin could travel, he would be there with me, so I say “we” in the proverbial sense. I love that scripture that Bob loved so much, “no more anguish, no more grief, no more pain”…..what a joy it will be to be with our Heavenly Father.

Taking such a deep breath to read this. May the Comforter be your close Friend each day and Bob’s memory be for a blessing.

So sorry to hear the news about Bob.
Trudy, the two of you have always been pillars of righteousness and Godliness to us. You have always lived your life as an example to us and others. Bob was such an honest, sincere , hard working, lover of the word and the Lord. We were so thankful we had a chance to see the 2 of you in Atlin in 2020. It came as such a surprise to both of us and set us back to realize how vulnerable we are and also that the Lord can call us at anytime. Our love, our prayers, and our hope is that the Lord will give you strength as you navigate through this difficult time. He will be missed. Love you.
